With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Karlene Victoria Case, who
departed this life on March 20, 2025, at the age of 72.
Born on February 23, 1953, in Kingston, Jamaica, Karlene was the eldest daughter of the late
William and Beryl Knight. A woman of remarkable intellect and determination, she graduated
high school at just 15 and was accepted into Howard University at 17. Though she chose a
different path, she continued her academic journey and ultimately earned a Master of Science
degree from Nova Southeastern University.
For over 20 years, Karlene served as a Nursing Home Administrator, dedicating her
professional life to caring for others with compassion, diligence, and grace. Helping people
wasn’t just her job—it was her calling. She lived with open hands and an open heart, always
ready to give, and often doing so without hesitation. She was, quite literally, the kind of person
who would give you the shirt off her back.
Above all, Karlene's greatest passion was her family. She was a devoted wife to Karl Bancroft
Giovanni Case Sr., and a loving mother to her four children: Rachael May Victoria Case, Karl
Bancroft Giovanni Case II, Jordan Jared Jamin Case, and the late Marley William Lester
Case. She poured her heart into motherhood, raising her children with unwavering love,
strength, and faith.
Karlene was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren—Judah-Zion, Ja’kii, Tah’Siah,
Ndierah, Audrey, Karl III and Zion,—each of whom brought her joy and pride beyond
measure.
She is also survived by her siblings: Weston Knight, Meron Knight, Valleta Knight-Bent, and
Mellisia Knight.
Karlene was deeply spiritual, a woman rooted in faith and guided by kindness. She was
nurturing, generous, hard-working, and steadfast—traits that made her the cornerstone of her
family and a light to everyone who knew her.
Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and service. She will be missed more than words can say,
and remembered with gratitude, reverence, and deep affection.
